SOCCER & BASKETBALL CAMP

SPORTS PERFORMANCE & ELITE BIBLICAL TEACHING
FOR AGES 11 - 17
SKILL BREAKDOWNS

Every camper should be challenged and supported at the right pace for their individual ability. To ensure this, we divide athletes into three distinct skill levels for each sport — Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Campers are placed based on an initial skills assessment, prior experience, and coach observation during the first sessions. This structure allows our coaching staff to tailor drills, games, and instruction to match developmental needs and create a positive learning environment.

Beginner
(Foundational Skills)

  • Focused on introducing core fundamentals and building confidence.
  • Emphasis on fun, teamwork, and understanding the basic rules of the sport.
  • Coaches prioritize proper form and creating a supportive atmosphere for first-time players.

Basketball examples:

  • Basic dribbling (stationary and moving)
  • Proper shooting form at close range
  • Learning positions and simple passing drills

Soccer examples:

  • Ball control and simple footwork
  • Basic passing and receiving
  • Introduction to small-sided games (3v3 or 4v4)

Intermediate
(Skill Development and Strategy)

  • Geared toward campers with some experience looking to elevate their game.
  • Introduces more advanced techniques while reinforcing fundamentals.
  • Encourages understanding of game flow and team strategy.

Basketball examples:

  • Off-the-dribble shooting and layup variations
  • Defensive positioning and rotations
  • Small-team scrimmages with strategic focus

Soccer examples:

  • Intermediate dribbling moves and shielding
  • Passing patterns and building plays from defense to attack
  • Small-sided matches with tactical objectives (spacing, pressing)

Advanced
(High-Level Training and Competition)

  • Designed for skilled players aiming for competitive play and refinement.
  • High-intensity drills focusing on speed, precision, and decision-making.
  • Incorporates advanced strategy and leadership opportunities.

Basketball examples:

  • Full-court press and transition play
  • Advanced shooting drills (off-screens, three-pointers)
  • Competitive full-court games with in-depth coaching feedback
